Lo, many years ago, I was editing a magazine about the Internet when a distinctly putrid smell ravaged the office. My art director, Tom DeMay, had decided to scan fistfuls of Spam to illustrate a story on the subject. As he noted, “Only genuine Spam was used for this story. Accept no substitutions.”

So while I gaze at the curiously beautiful imagery on the blog Scansandwiches, I have two thoughts. One, does this chap’s office smell? And, does he eat the other half of the sandwich for lunch?
