Politics is something of a sport in France. But even so, we’ve been surprised how many people in Paris have asked us about the Democratic primary and the general election this November. Some of it may stem from the disdain that Europeans have for G.W. Bush.
Today, after the primary, Obama’s win got a lot of media attention. It was the leading story on all the newscasts, the headline of all the papers. Turns out, he’s extremely popular in France. We even passed a bar where we heard what we thought at first was a soccer chant. Instead, they were saying “Obama! Obama!”
